3 miles on treadmill. Nothing fancy.
Bike 30 minutes
Made double use of my time and read two chapters of my class textbook while on the bike. Used the Tabata method again to work on my core using crunches, bike kicks and pushups. Afterwards I tried to low plank. Didn’t even make it to a minute. So either the crunches did their job, or I have a super weak core (or both).
5 x 400m Hill Repeats, 8% incline.
Total 3 miles.
Killed my legs, but all for the sake of the Kahtoola Mountain Run.
3.25 miles. Remembered to pack some cold gear, including my new Nike Element 1/2 Zip from PoHo. I ran from work to a nearby park, did a few loops on the berm and came back. Legs were still sore from the day before. Foam rolled for a bit. People look at me weird in the gym when I use it. They think the pain in my face is from doing some sort of hard strength workout; not because it hurts like a bitch.
Was scheduled to cross-train, but I never made it to the gym. Once i got home, it was over. Unless you count eating massive amounts of homemade fajitas as cross=training. Then I nailed it!
I think starting next week, Thurdsays will be cross-training to help recover from Wednesday hill repeats.
7.22 mi of trails at Stony Creek.
Forgot to set my alarm. Thankfully I woke up at 6:30 and geared up before Anthony got to the house. We made it to Stony by 8am. It was a great run. We did mostly single-track. I haven’t uploaded my GPS to see exactly where we went, but I believe we did:
- The Snake
- Roller Coaster
- Back Nine
- Pines again.
Plenty of walk breaks and rest stops had us on the trails for about 90 minutes. But we had fun and plan to try and make it at least a bi-weekly thing.
Happy birthday to me! I was thinking of making it a rest day, but since I copped out on Friday. I am going to do some core. Maybe 29 reps of each.
Ran 16.6 miles
60 minutes cross-training
