Exciting news on the APFT Challenge. I’ve partnered up with the folks over at Run This Race. They loved the challenge idea and wanted to get behind it. Together we hope to bring even more “recruits” into the challenge. The challenge already has about 15 confirmed participants and with this partnership we should able to reach out to even more.
So what does this partnership mean?
- If you haven’t signed up already, you can still do so using the new sign-up page, or if you’d like you can still just contact me through any one of a million ways (email, Twitter, FB, comment).
- Results will be posted to both my site and on Run This Race’s APFT page.
- If you sign up for the beta launch of Run This Race (and you should), they will record your participation and you will get a unique badge. Those who choose not to be part of Run This Race (why?), will still get a badge to have placed on your site.
- Finally, everybody gets a sticker provided by Run This Race, because who doesn’t like stickers?
Stay tuned for future blog posts both here and on Run This Race’s blog for progress reports, encouragement and pointers.
In Other News…
There’s still time!! If you haven’t already, there is still time to join the challenge. Your baseline test scores are due by the end of this month (you have 2 weeks).
I’ve added a new page explaining rules and scoring. The rules of this challenge are all derived from the US Army’s Training Circular for Physical Fitness (TC 3-22.20), which can be downloaded here (pdf). Reading it can be a little overwhelming, which is why I made the new page.
If you have any other questions, send them my way and I’ll be happy to answer them.
