Nothing beats free, right?
A few months back, I posted excitedly that I was able to revive a treadmill that my in-laws bought. It broke down under warranty and after two house-calls, the manufacturer gave up and refunded them without having to return it. Probably because it weighs as much as a baby elephant.
So my father-in-law and I took it apart and got it into my garage. Through my genius (read: “pure luck”), I was able to fix it. Two weeks ago, my Brother-in-Law was over for dinner and offered to help me carry it down. The next day I had it all reassembled and cleaned up.
So thus starts the workout room project. I now have a room to keep mine and Lauren’s workout gear. Notice the TV box sitting in the corner? It was “free” with our car lease. and will be mounted next week. I wish I had more time and money to put into the room, but it’s not a priority.
I haven’t even gone a mile on it yet, but Lauren has been using it everyday. My non-running wife is 8 days into a running streak. She plans to run at least 1 mile every day throughout August. I’m super proud of her. I know it’s a big challenge to run every day. I never do it. She bought herself a pair of Nike Free’s while we were in Birch Run this weekend. Who knows, maybe she’ll even start to enjoy running.
