Just a quick update…
I Thought My Plan Was To Stay Healthy?
Went out for an early morning 5 mile run on Tuesday. It was really dark and I managed to roll my ankle on a pothole at mile 2. I didn’t think too much of it. I roll my ankles all the time, so I walked it off and went on my way. I ran along the water for a couple miles. It was a clear night, so there were a ton of stars out. Once I got back home I mapped my route, to discover my 5 mile run was actually 6.2.
The ankle remained sore that day and a little pain walking to and from class in the evening. The next day it was still bothering me, so I decided it was a rest day. It feels better today and I will probably go ahead with my planned easy 3 miles.
Half #5 Is Almost Here
The Free Press Marathon is in 10 days. It’s feeling kind of anti-climatic this year. I made my goal of a sub 2 a couple weeks ago. I would really like a repeat, but it’s so hard for me to bounce back up after a race. This is also the first time going without Anthony, or anyone for that matter. I would never make my wife and son wake up at an ungodly hour to see me cross the start line in 40° weather. The GP Runners are all planning carpool arraignments, so I may join them.
Run The Pointe 10K
This Saturday is a local 10k put on by the high school’s athletic booster. I ran it two years ago and volunteered it last year. This year I am signed up for it and contemplated going for a 10k PR, but its a week before Free Press and I have 10 miles scheduled. I think it will have to be a 90% effort run and forgo the extra 4 miles. After the race, I have to head home, wash up and leave for Flint. The family is going to Crossroads Village for their spooky train ride and trick or treating.
